Notary Public Services at Union County Chamber of Commerce
The Union County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to offer notary public services to our members, local businesses, and the general public. Our dedicated notaries are on hand to assist with a wide range of notarization needs during regular business hours.
Hours of Operation
Our notary services are available during the following hours:
Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Appointments are required, as our staff may be out of the office for meetings or other commitments.
Who Can Use Our Notary Services?
- Chamber Members: We provide notary services to all Chamber members at no cost.
- Local Businesses and Residents: Our services are also available to the general public and businesses in the Union County area for $10 per notarial act.
Available Notarial Services
We provide the following notary services free of charge:
- Acknowledging signatures on legal documents
- Administering oaths and affirmations
- Certifying copies of important documents
- Verifying identity and signatures for official purposes
How to Prepare
Wait to sign documents to be notarized until you are with the notary.
Know and understand what type of notarial act you need to be performed.
We recommend speaking to the business or organization requesting the notarization to obtain this information.
What to Bring
When you visit our office for notary services, please ensure you bring:
1. The document(s) to be notarized.
2. A valid, government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver's license, passport).
3. Any witnesses, if required by the document.
Limitations
The Union County Chamber of Commerce provides Notary Public services in accordance with Oregon law. Please be advised that our notaries are not Notarios Públicos and do not offer legal advice or services. While our notaries can assist with most notarial acts, certain restrictions apply to the types of documents we can notarize. For example, we do not notarize real estate deeds, international documents, or anything that requires legal advice or representation.
Language Limitations
- The notary must be able to read and understand what they have been asked to notarize.
- The Chamber is unable to notarize documents that contain any language other than English.
- The notary and individual whose document is being notarized must be able to communicate directly with each other. Translators are not permitted.
- The notary may suggest the document be taken to a notary who can read the language. Such a notary may be located through an online search, at a foreign consulate, or through a professional listing site such as https://www.findanotary.com.
