LA GRANDE, Ore., (November 4, 2020) – The Union County Chamber of Commerce is teaming up with businesses from all over Union County to host a Quarterly Shop Hop!  The hop will be hosted on the first weekends of December (12/3-5, 2020), February (02/4-6, 2021), May (05/6-8, 2021), and September (09/16-18, 2021) for the Eastern Oregon University Week of Welcome and so on!  This is a great way to safely shop and support local.

“The Chamber is really excited to be partnering with so many of our local businesses from all of our Union County communities,” said Suzannah Moore-Hemann, Executive Director of the Union County Chamber of Commerce. “With so many businesses of all sizes really facing a lot of difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are wanting to develop this signature Loyal-to-Local event and something on an ongoing basis.  This give our community the opportunity to safely show support for our local businesses.”

This ongoing event will take place quarterly with different businesses participating – it’s open to any business in the county with the goal of encouraging shoppers to explore new shops and take advantage of everything Union County has to offer locally.  All participating businesses are asked to donate something – gift cards, merchandise, swag, or other prizes – for the raffle prize baskets at the end.  The public is encouraged to collect stamps and signatures on their game boards which will be turned in at the end of the event (December 5, 2020) at any of the participating locations.  The Chamber will collect all pieces and draw names for the winner and notify them the following week.

Currently the Chamber has almost 15 businesses signed up and excited to see shoppers and actively and eagerly recruiting more to join in the fun and celebration.  The Chamber will continue to expand this event in the future, but for now, is just excited to have the opportunity to host this “event.”  Those interested in jumping on the “Shop Hop Trail” can visit the Chamber’s website and social media for more information, check out the flier, and see who is participating.

More information is available at the Chamber office (541-963-8588, Info@VisitUnionCounty.org) and on the Chamber’s website (http://www.VisitUnionCounty.org).

Loyal to Local
Monopoly Shop Hop

December 3-5, 2020

Collect properties and enter for a chance to win prizes!

The Union County Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with several local businesses to  organize this pre-holiday game.  Now, more than ever, the Chamber encourages you to safely shop local and support our local businesses during the holiday season.  Businesses of all sizes are facing obstacles never before seen in our lifetime.  This is why we have all gotten together to create a fun way our community can support local businesses as we strive to recover from the past several months.

From  December 3-5, 2020, the public is encouraged to collect property card stamps/signatures by visiting each of the game board businesses’ real-world locations.  Some locations may require a purchase to receive credit, while some may simply require a visit or a “Like” on their Facebook page and request for information.

The Chamber will be giving away prizes via a raffle drawing for people who collect all the property blocks on the game card.  Turn in your game cards and the following week after the Shop Hop, the Chamber will draw for winners – with three grand prize gift baskets up for grabs.

Once a player has made a purchase (gift cards included) or visited all businesses, turn in your game card at one of the participating locations.  All game cards must be turned in by Saturday, December 5.

Prize winners will be announced by the Chamber via Facebook and email on December 8, 2020.
