La Grande, Oregon…Grande Ronde Symphony Association kicks-off the decade with a unique chamber series concert featuring musical selections from Tony award winning composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown. Vocalists Renee Wells and Devin Frazier will entertain the audience in an intimate home setting on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 307 C. Avenue in La Grande. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the performance will begin at 7:00 pm.
Soprano Renee Wells will be performing with tenor Devin Frasier for the Grande Ronde Symphony – Chamber Series, as they take on the roles of married couple dealing with the circumstances of life. Selections will be from the modern play by Jason Robert Brown and will share an emotional musical journey about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. Wells and Frasier will be singing selections from the play, and delighting the audience with the magic of telling a story through song.
Renee Wells was born and raised in northwest Montana. She graduated from Eastern Oregon University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Music and a Bachelor’s of Science in Theatre. With her beautiful soprano voice she has performed numerous solos and staged scenes with the Portland Opera To Go program during their yearly visits to EOU. She has had the honor of performing with the Grande Ronde Symphony on four
occasions. Currently Renee sings with the Depot Street Syncopator’s, a New Orleans Style Mardi Gras band based in La Grande.
According to GRSA President, Alice Trindle, “This will be an unprecedented opportunity to hear pieces from a modern Broadway play by two of our region’s most well-known vocal artists”. She continued, “The Chamber Series was created for this type of presentation, so that local residents can experience music in small-space settings, while being exposed to exceptional quality performances”.

granderondesymphony.org. Single tickets may be purchased at the door for $25 each. Refreshments will be offered following the concert making for a perfect way to cap a wonderful evening of music.
