Make a child’s holiday happier by picking up a Tree of Giving ornament at Cook Memorial Library. Now in its fifth year, the Tree of Giving seeks to help local families in need during the holidays. The Tree of Giving, decorated with gift suggestions for children in need will be at the Library from Tuesday, November 26, through Tuesday, December 17, 2019.
Using the Tree of Giving is easy. To help a child in need this holiday, stop by the Library and select an ornament from the tree; on the ornament is the age, gender, and gift suggestion for the child. After you have purchased and wrapped the gift, being sure to write the gift identifier code (M2, for example) on the package, return it to the library on or before Tuesday, December 17. The ornament is yours to keep! This year, all beneficiaries of Tree of Giving gifts are La Grande School District students. Donations of other gifts such as scarves, hats, mittens/gloves, and non-perishable food items are welcome too; we’ll gift these items to others in our community who are in need at this time of year. Your participation in the Tree of Giving effort can help make a needy family’s holiday special this year. Please visit the Library and pick up an ornament before December 17.
